Welcome!

BIPOC Business and Professional Network (BIPOC BPN) is a volunteer-led, volunteer-run, and volunteer-powered not-for-profit that exists to meet the economic needs of all BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and other People of Colour) in PEI, regardless of where they come from or how long their families have been in Canada.

Vision

Our vision is a future where BIPOC communities are fully integrated in PEI, both economically and socially. By this, we mean there are no differences between BIPOC and non-BIPOC in terms of social and economic outcomes.

Mission

Our mission is to support BIPOC business owners, professionals, and post-secondary students and trainees to achieve economic empowerment and equity. Whatever the economic goal–starting a business, growing a business, finding meaningful work, career advancement, or upgrading education or skills–we want to be a partner in achieving it.

Values

The values that guide our work are:

Collaboration

We work together to share resources and expertise.

Unity

We come together as one BIPOC community and allies while appreciating and respecting our diversity.

Professionalism

We are committed to high quality, standards, competence, and reliability; we conduct ourselves with integrity; and we show respect.

Ethicality

We are accountable, honest, and fair in all our dealings.

Inclusiveness

We welcome all BIPOC in PEI and allies to bring their whole selves, embrace diversity, and address inaccessibility and inequity.

How We Work

We are led by volunteers.

Our Board of Directors is responsible for our organization, and all Board members are volunteers.

We are powered by volunteers.

We believe in the power of sharing and working together to create a stronger community.

We are connectors and facilitators.

We collaborate with partners and allies to serve BIPOC communities in PEI.

We leverage existing assets and fill gaps.

We make use of what already exists, and when we identify gaps, we work with partners and allies to fill them.
